School Finance: A Primer
School finance is incredibly complicated! However, it is important for every community member to understand how schools are funded and how the tax rate is set by the Board of Trustees, what the limitations are for the Board of Trustees in setting a rate, and how valuations set by WCAD and TCAD factor into the calculation as well as how this impacts the amount of recapture that Round Rock ISD has to pay back to the state. My team and I have worked hard to put together this slide deck to answer the most common questions about school finance and shed light on what is otherwise a very complex topic.
